Woman Allegedly Gang-Raped by Four Men, Three Arrested

In a distressing incident, a 33-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by four men on the terrace of a private hotel in Bengaluru’s Koramangala area. The incident occurred around midnight on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
The victim, employed in catering services, was waiting near the Jyothi Nivas College junction when four men in their 20s approached her. After initiating a conversation, they invited her to dinner at a nearby hotel. Post dinner, the men reportedly made unwanted sexual advances and subsequently assaulted her on the hotel’s terrace. They threatened her against disclosing the incident and released her around 6 AM on Friday. Upon returning home, she informed her husband, and they approached the police.

Joint Commissioner (East) Ramesh Banoth stated that three of the accused have been arrested, and efforts are underway to apprehend the fourth suspect. All four individuals are from another state and work in the hotel industry. A case has been registered at the Koramangala police station under Section 70 (gang rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
This incident has raised significant concerns about women’s safety in Bengaluru, particularly in bustling areas like Koramangala. Authorities have assured swift action and a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
